Specialist Services

Throughout the year, we provide training opportunities from the best of the best that would not ordinarily available in Sale and surrounding areas, or Gippsland even.

If there is something outside our niche (such as snake aversion training) or have the opportunity to bring a trainer over that is highly respected in their individual field and it would be of benefit to the community, we have no hesitation in doing so.

Specialty services are shown below and will vary from time to time. Please ensure you read all the information about these services before enrolling via the associated contact forms

Snake Aversion Training

Snake aversion training can really save your dog’s life when done right.

It must be done by a trainer with the correct qualification, and the snakes used must be as accurate as possible to the species of snakes your dog needs to avoid in real life (being venomous species). It’s also important that the trainer is a dog trainer so that your trainer knows how to read the dog extremely well (we don’t use a snake catcher for this role) and a snake handler handles the snakes. So everyone is operating in their area of their expertise.

Who is it?

We know THE man for this and regularly bring over Daniel Mannix of the Victorian Dog Training Academy to run this specialised service for the dog owners of Gippsland.

Daniel is both experienced and qualified. He uses e-collars to perform this training to ensure the snake aversion response will be occurring independent of the owner. To comply with legal requirements associated with e-collar use, a vet will need to sign off on your dog’s health and temperament for your dog to be able to participate in this training. Your dog must be a minimum of SIX MONTHS OF AGE at the time of training.

Feedback from the participants of all the previous training days is that Daniel is kind and caring to the dogs and owners and only uses the e-collars on the minimum level needed for each individual dog to achieve the desired result (aversion). We also have reports of these dogs coming in contact with snakes after the training and behaving how they are meant to behave around snakes. Avoid!

Please see the following links for more information on the training itself.
